MY ROLE
As ideas for different trailers were thrown around i suggested doing something which was appealing to the British audience. So we scrapped any ideas of horror or Sci-Fi and went ahead with my idea of having a drama/action movie. I suggested this because in the last couple of years a hype was around for such movies. This was from Adulthood, West 10 LDN, to recently One Day and the older but amazing Bullet Boy. it was also a genre which was based on realism and we didn't have to have any extra props or equipment except of what we already have, so it was better to do in that sense to.

So since i came up with the idea for the trailer i was given the job of directing and also acting. In directing i had to help with the plan and also make sure that everything was to go to schedule. I also had to decide on when and where we will meet to do either shooting or have a group meeting. Making sure that every member in the group had completed their tasks and seeing who needed help was another of my duties. I helped Yassin with the editing as this was an important stage in the making of the trailer. I also helped Amina in choosing a the music because this would be a crucial element in the trailer. We had to use the right music in order for us to achieve what we set out.

My other duty was acting. I played Darrell who is the main charchter, a teenager lost in the wilderness of the city. I was given this role because i fit the characteristics of the character we wanted to create. I had to find buildings and locations were we can do the shooting and make sure everyone attended on time. My main duty was to ensure that every member had contributed in the making and understood what is asked of them and for everyone to take turns in using the camera.

Music
The following are a number of music tracks which i intend in using in my trailer.I still have not decide on which ones to use. All of the tracks are done by british artists from the grime genre as its the appealing genre in such movies.

1) Tinchy Stryder- follow
The artist in this track talks about how he had to follow people when he was younger and the struggles which he had to go through, and now he is someone who people look up to but most importantly follow.

2) Skrein- Reach
This track has a really good instrumental which gives a sense of seriousness and its a typical beat which if teenagers hear would recognise to be from grime.

3) Dizzee rascal- Paranoid
This track was used in Adulthood and the artist tells of how is not thinking straight and how his mind plays tricks on him. it can be a personal track and might be of personal identity to my audience.

4) The streets- Stay positive
Staying positive through thick and thin is the message sent from this artist. he explores his past and troubles which have surrounded his life scince he was a young boy.

5) Dash- Test of a man
What tests a man has to go through in order for them to prove them selves to be a real man who is respected in the 'hood'.

All of the above music is created by British artists mainly in London and Birmingham. They all follow the grime genre which is a genre on the rise and it is what most teenagers listen to as they can relate to it as well as learn from it. As you can see I chose the music tracks specifically as they all bring a message and mention struggle and talk about the harsh realities of life which are not presented in all movies. This goes well with my movie trailer as it is about a teenager who falls prey to drugs, gangs and the police! The music and the plot make a good combination as i now need to choose which of the tracks I want to use. another thing is that the tracks have been done by both black and white artists and this is very important because in such genres no culture or background stands out as it effects all ethnicities.
